Panel Upgrades
Common signs include: breakers tripping frequently, planning to add an EV charger or major appliance, a panel that uses fuses instead of breakers, visible rust or damage, or a home built before 1980 with the original panel.
Most 100A to 200A upgrades take one full day. The power will be off for 4-6 hours during the actual panel swap. We coordinate with Austin Energy for the meter pull.
Panel upgrades in Austin typically range from $2,500-$4,500 for a standard 100A to 200A upgrade, depending on your home's specific needs. We provide detailed quotes after assessing your situation.
Sometimes. If your meter base or service entrance cables are undersized, Austin Energy may need to upgrade their side. We coordinate this process and include any associated costs in your quote.

EV Chargers
Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet and adds 3-5 miles of range per hour. Level 2 uses a 240V circuit (like your dryer) and adds 25-50 miles per hour. Most EV owners want Level 2 for overnight charging.
It depends on your current panel capacity and available space. Many homes with 100A panels don't have room for a 50A EV circuit without an upgrade. We assess this during your free estimate.
Yes! Both hardwired chargers (like Tesla Wall Connector) and NEMA 14-50 outlets can be installed outdoors with proper weatherproofing.
Yes! The federal government offers a 30% tax credit (up to $1,000) for home charger installation. Austin Energy also has rebate programs. We help you understand and apply for available incentives.

Smart Home
Yes! We install the full range of Lutron products from Caseta to RadioRA 3, as well as other smart home platforms like Control4 and Savant.
In most cases, yes. Some older homes may need neutral wires run to switch boxes, which we can do. We assess your wiring during the consultation.
Basic smart switches work with standard wiring. More advanced systems like Lutron RadioRA 3 or Control4 benefit from dedicated low-voltage wiring and a central equipment location.
